Day 06 - NM

UFO Museum.

This is Blue, he laid under our table while we ate and snagged our leftovers at Chileo's.

After this Nick had to stop at the police station to use their bathroom. Good call on the medicine bag Gram.

White Sands National Monument.

I'm a nerd.

Another large, unidentifiable insect.

We had to stop at two border-control checkpoints.

Old chums.

I got a jalapeno lollipop here- super hot but delish.

Hah!

Crossin' the Rio Grande.

We're beat. It's been a really long and really hot day in New Mexico.

Day 05 - OK, TX, NM

Thanks everybody for reading/commenting our blog. We don't often comment back but it's exciting for us to read the comments every morning, we love 'em and we love all of you. We also miss everyone and it's nice to hear about what's going on back on the East Coast! (or West Coast). We also love phone calls to break up the driving.

Went to Lucille's for breakfast. Delicious but as far as we can tell, southern hospitality is a myth.

Our last pic. of Oklahoma. This guy hated it so much he went to outer space.

Someone lives here.

They love the devil's rope in Texas.

Our first ticket compliments of Texas, just moments after Nick made the comment that he couldn't believe we hadn't been pulled over yet.

Largest cross.

Amarillo TX. The Big Texan- Nick was all over this place.

If you eat all this, you get it for free. The 72oz. steak alone is 7,000 calories.

4 out of 5 ribs- extremely tender, sauce was a little over powering but a good pork flavor. Nice portion sizing.

New Mexico!

These pictures do NM little justice, trust me.

Some abandon gas station off route 40, also smelled like carcass.

This photo came out so nicely.

There was no one on this road for long spans of time. There was also a sign that said "Do not pick up hitchhikers, detention facility ahead."

The clouds casting shadows.

Roswell, NM. Ryan, we're going to area 51/the UFO museum tomorrow, so check out the blog brotha'.

The freaks made it.

Roswell's a cool little town. It feels like the twilight zone theme song should be playing all the time. Strange folks 'round these parts. We're on mountain time now, which gives us an extra hour to do laundry and get some much needed sleep. Tomorrow we're going to hoard as much of the free breakfast buffet as we can so we can save it for our journey to the white sands and mesa verde. Goodnight!
