Day 10 & 11- NV, CA

We made it to Cali. two days back. We're staying with my Aunt Theresa and cousins, so we've been too busy goofing off to update. Here are the pictures from Vegas.

This is what scruffy little orphans do when they get a room at the Luxor.

Haha

Our Hotel.

One legged pigeon.

This reminded us of Joel and Ryan.

Paris.

She's ridiculous.

I'd be worried if my water had fat in it Vegas.

There was a fake eyelash under our sheet. There was also honey and margarine.

Finally, Elvis.

Fremont St. Experience.

Nick stepped on this. It's bigger than it appears.

Everyone has personalized license plates out west.

New York, New York.

MGM.

Tons of Windmills in Cali.

Mom love.

Mojave.

We don't have windshield wiper fluid.

  1. I thought for moment something must have happen to your computer.I'm glad you had the time to stop in and visit your Aunt Theresa and cousins. It nice to have family to visit on your journey. Wow, you stayed at the Lexor....very impressive!!! They must have decent furniture to withstand two spunky monkeys jumping on the beds. You know the story, one fell off and bumped his head! Did you get to see alot of Vegas??? Nick, you were looking way to happy with that showgirl.....I bet she was batting her false eyelashes at you. Speaking of fake(false) eyelashes, did you tell the hotel what you found in your bed? That's creepy!!!! Welp, I'm calling it quits and going to bed or nothing will make sense. Love you two. Gram By the way, cool pic of Mojave.

  2. Hey my favorite nomads! I'm back from the deep Canadian bush with more skeeter bites and walleye fillets than you can shake a stick at. Nick you would love the bugs up there! They remind me of those terminex commercials where they knock on the doors to get in your house. Our dinkiy 12 hour drive made me think of the countless streches, creepy bathroom stops and awkward sleeping postions you two must be used to by now. Your photos are fantastic and your comments have me smiling from ear to ear. BTW- our whole fish camp crew got to follow your adventure via blackberry as soon as we got back on the grid. Every one of them appreciated the free spirited nature of your trip and were very impressed, thats saying something knowing these guys.

There is no doubt you guys are doing it right. I wish I wish I was checking out the the land those old fellows signed for way back on July 4th. Love Dad

  4. Janie, so are you like in the valley girl mode, or maybe in the surfer chick mode, or possibly in the san-fran hippie mode while enjoying your r&r in sunny calif? You guys deserve a break after an outstanding job of photo-journalism.......capturing the essense of your adventure during the first leg of your cross america journey. Bravo!!!! Take a deep breath, chill out and get ready for the next phase of your travels. If possible, it would be nice to know ahead of time what areas of the country you are heading toward. We are all with you in spirit waiting for more pictures and captions. Nick.....why do I always think of the movie Pee-Wee Herman's Great Adventure when I see pictures of you????????
